Phoenix Children’s Hospital
Phoenix Children’s Hospital provides hope, healing, and health care to Arizona children and their families. Today, Phoenix Children's is the only free-standing pediatric hospital in Arizona and one of the 10 largest hospitals of its kind in the United States.
Volunteers at Phoenix Children’s Hospital must complete 100 hours of service, usually 3 to 4 hours per week.
Frank Russo volunteers in the Got Questions program, serving as a point of contact for all hospital visitors, guests, and families. He is stationed throughout the hospital and offers passers-by a friendly welcome, as well as escorting them around the hospital and answering any questions they may have.
Lianne Russo volunteers in The Emily Center, which offers books, videos, websites, and files regarding pediatric medical conditions for the public at large. She provides clerical support and interacts with younger patrons by playing computer games, watching videos, and reading stories. She assists the staff with medical research, as well as making deliveries throughout the hospital.

The ride, which was on November 6, 2004, raised $11,665 benefiting Phoenix Children’s Hospital through the Children’s Miracle Network. The bikers gathered at the Arrowhead Harley Davidson where they enjoyed coffee and doughnuts and purchased raffle tickets to support Children’s Miracle Network. Joey is an inspirational and vibrant 5-year-old boy who was diagnosed with leukemia at 3 years of age. Joey was able to throw out the opening pitch in front of a sold out crowd of over 12,000 fans. Several of RE/MAX Professionals’ top contributors enjoyed watching the game along with Joey and his father in a private suite.
Operation RE/MAX
In conjunction with the Department of Defense and RE/MAX International, Operation RE/MAX is designed to guide the spouse of any military person through the process of real estate licensing, placement, and training. The program is available to any military spouse located in the United States, and RE/MAX Professionals is an approved office of the program. Operation RE/MAX also includes programs for administrative office support, unlicensed assistants, and other staff positions.
The military is unique in the American labor force in that rank-and-file personnel and their families relocate as often as every 18 to 36 months. Of the nearly one million domestic military members, just over half are married. Military members and their families are a mobile population; Operation RE/MAX offers a long-term career opportunity for military spouses to utilize this mobility to their advantage through referrals and specialization in military relocation.
